Chamila Weerasinghe Arachchige

PhD Student

Chamila is a PhD Student at the Dept of Social Sciences of  Monash University and her research looks into policies that create enabling conditions for sustainability transitions of SMEs.

Prior joining Monash University, Chamila worked for the International Labour Organization (ILO) of the United Nations and led projects on green jobs and climate resilience, and creating enabling environments for bringing in inclusive economic growth through SME development. She further has more than 10 years of experience in managing projects and contributing to research on environment and natural resources management, climate change adaptation and resilience building, corporate sustainability and watershed management.

Chamila is an engineer by training with a BSc Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka and hold masters qualifications from the National University of Singapore, (Singapore), University of Peradeniya (Sri Lanka) and Quantic School of Business and Technology (United States, online programme) in the areas of environmental management, integrated water resources management and business administration.
